The Fira Palace is an excellent choice when staying in Barcelona. The rooms are large and clean. The gym and pool are very nice. The location is good, just outside the old olympic site, a short walk from the metro. It's about a 10 minute train or taxi ride to La Ramblas. You're not in the center of it all here, but I found that to be a good thing.

The hotel is in a quiet location but only 10 minutes stroll from the metro and 3 minutes walk from the fountains. The room was superb with all the facilities you would expect. If you fancy a coffee don't forget the travel kettle! Take time out to use the very well equiped gym and indoor swimming pool. The staff speak excellent English and were very helpfull. Can't say anything negative about the hotel apart from the cost of the mini bar, don't open it!! We will be returning next year assuming the pound gets stronger against the euro!
