Room was average and quite warm, no air conditioning as of yet. Hotel is currently undergoing extensive renovations and expansion through to the fall of 2009. It is located close to the train station and tram line, which is convenient . Food quality and service in the downstairs restaurant and bar is quite good and on par with other like establishments in the city. Complimentary internet and breakfast a definite added attraction. Rooms rates were reasonable, but given the opportunity to pay a little more for a better quality room (with air conditioning), I would pass on this location during a return visit. As the climate in Dublin can be humid, the lack of air conditioning is/was a significant factor. Daytime temperatures were not above 20 degrees Celsius during our stay (early July), however it seemed to be a bit warmer, given the humidity. |

we thought that the hotel was very friendly, even though they were having renovations done when we went they never got in the way in fact you would not have known that any building work was being carried out. The food was excellent and the staff were very nice & helpful, the rooms were clean and very comfortable. The hotel was situated very near to the tram which was very convenient when you want to get into the centre of the city. I would reccomend it to anyone, we will certainly be going back to Dublin and will definately look upon staying at the Ashling again. My husband & I throroughly enjoyed our time there. |
