Channings Hotel is a 4 star hotel in Edinburgh. Overlooking private gardens on a quiet cobbled street, the Channings Hotel was originally a row of 5 Edwardian town houses. The Channings Hotel was named 'Edinburgh Hotel of the Year' in 2004.

The hotel has a cosy atmosphere with open fires and an oak panelled library. Much of the furniture and paintings in the hotel are antique and provide an ambiance of a bygone era. Channings Bar and Restaurant provides one of Edinburgh's best informal dining experiences.
All the bedrooms are individually decorated, and many of the rooms offer breath-taking views of Edinburgh, while others overlook the private gardens. Bedroom facilities include telephone,

Reviews of Channings Hotel Edinburgh

Review by: J Ogilvy, Cambridge, United Kingdom

I arrived after along drive from the south and welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. My room was very attractive, decorated to a high standard, and with all facilities as described. I enjoyed a light meal in the bar, not often available in hotels after 9pm, so this was good to know, having had a delayed journey. On the first morning, I had difficulty in obtaining hot water from the shower due to the strange tap design but had worked it out by the second day, but it was awkward. Otherwise, a delightful hotel and a very good location for access to the centre of town. They also look after your car which was worth £10 per day. Good value for money - give it a try!

This was a great hotel. The staff were very attentive
My only gripe is the last morning the person checking us out had a very sour demeanor like it was our problem he had to work early.

Yes, we would recommend it. We loved the attention we got and adored the little bar/restaurant downstairs. Perfect after a long day of walking the city! The breakfast room was lovely and the attention there was outstanding. We had a wonderful stay.
