This historic building from 1852 was completely renovated in 2007 and includes 200 rooms over 8 floors. Guests are welcomed in the foyer, which offers a 24-hour reception, a safe, a cloakroom and a lift. Guests will also find a hairdressing salon, a TV room, a bicycle storage facility and rental service as well as a conference room. Additional facilities include a café and a bar. Additionally, the hotel offers public wireless Internet access and a laundry service. Furthermore, the hotel has its own car park as well as a garage (for a fee) for those arriving by car. This hotel is situated in the tourist centre of Ljubljana. Shopping venues, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance of the hotel. Public transport departs for the centre from a stop approximately 300 m from the hotel and the city airport is easily reached within a 15 minute drive. A breakfast buffet is available every morning. At midday and in the evenings, guests may select dishes from an à la carte menu. In addition, the hotel restaurant caters for special dietary requirements.

Very decent hotel in a good location

I found my stay at City Hotel very acceptable. I booked a single room which was on the small side but nicely furnished. The bed was large and the bathroom was very clean. I particulary enjoyed the free internet in the room and the extensive breakfast. The location is very good - only a few minutes walk to both the train station and the river.Taxi is in front of the hotel. One negative point though: I did find my room very warm. There was no airconditioning, only a ceiling fan which was too noisy to sleep under. Because my room was on the inside of the hotel, my window opened to an empty space in the middle of the hotel enclosed by glass floor and ceiling, so no fresh air could come in through that either. Some rooms have AC so perhaps it's better to ask for one of those.

Great location

The staff was friendly, the location was excellent, and the breakfast was great. My only complaint was the lack of a decent AC unit. We were there in early June and it was very hot which made it difficult to sleep.

City Hotel - Comfort for Affordable Prices

It is absolutely the only hotel in the centre of Ljubljana which combines acceptable prices with acceptable standard. Perhaps that is the reason why it was overcrowded, which influenced the quality of service somewhat, but as soon as we were in our rooms we were able to rest in comfort and peace, which we find important.

The City Hotel is a newly and tastefully refurbished hotel very close to the beautiful city centre. The staff were all very helpful even at 5am in the morning! I would strongly recommend the hotel and will certainly stay there again myself.

Very convenient. Clean and functional. The morning coffee was a little disappointing, but otherwise everything was ok.
