The Biltmore, downtown Los Angeles has been the best value hotel the last three times we have visited USC. The location is convenient, rooms clean and not just four walls, they each have character. The TV in the room could be upgraded |

For a quick overnight stay, we had a very nice visit with one glaring exception. The service was top notch from the parking vallet, to the desk clerk The concierge gave up spot-on recommendations for a nice restaurant in easy walking distance. The only sour point was the "Jazz Band" in the hotel bar/lounge on Saturday night. The were way too loud (even yelling into the ear of your neighbor might not guarantee being heard!) and simple awful. Sure jazz can have some improvisation but this was cacaphony lead by a bongo drummer who must have been incredibly impressed with himself and not caring about pleasing the crowd. We went to an adjacent room to escape, which was not far enough. Even the bar waitress agreed that they were bad. A sign rated them as one of the best hotels bars in LA; not that night! |

Love the Biltmore for its vast history and gorgeous details. So regal and other worldly. But the extras here are so grossly expensive I doubt I'll stay here again. Valet parking is up to $40 a night! Room service dinner for one (a salad and an appetizer) ran over $40 as well. Service was great, hotel lvely, but oy, that's just too much for too little. |

All hotel staff was very courteous and professional. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurants in the hotel provided great food and good service. The lounge bar was a relaxing place to have a drink. The concierge was very helpful and gave good advice regarding travel and attractions to see and do. Booking tours through the hotel was convenient and quite price competitive. All in all it was a excellent experience. |
