I would recommend the Queen Mary because it is a unique experience. The room was bigger and cleaner than I expected, and it even had a flat screen TV. It was interesting to walk through the ship and on the decks. |

My husband and I had a wedding to attend in the Long Beach area. As a maritime buff, my husband was excited to stay on the Queen Mary. I had never been on a cruise ship so was a little apprehensive. We arrived at the Queen Mary, one hour before check in and were greeted by a nice desk clerk. He said it was no problem to get us checked in and even gave us a nice room that faced the harbour, rather than the parking lot! The room was a king room and was much larger than I had anticipated. IAccording to my husband this one was much bigger than modern day cruise ships. The rooms had original details and if you like history you would enjoy it. The bathroom is authentic too, so if you are looking for high luxury in that department you will not find it.Ifyoulikehistoryouwillloveit. |

I would recommend staying at this hotel if you have a flair for historic places. The ocean liner has been well maintained, with some updates. Now for the bad news. All the rooms were booked that weekend for a singles party, which happened to be going on above my room. My room was at the very back end of the ship, you board at the front., and I had just sprained my ankle before the trip. I reserved a Queen/King room and got a Double bed with a uncomfortable rollaway bed. They offered to change the room the next day, but I was gone all day attending my son's wedding and reception. After returning home, I noticed the hotel charged my account $1,010.22. I had to call several times to find it was a posting error and my account was credited a week later. |

I would recommend it for the experience of an unusual lodging compared to a hotel/motel, and great food in the restaurants. The staff at the Churchill restaurant were great, and the view of Long Beach beautiful. |
