Having requested a non-smoking room on a high floor we were allocated a smoking room on a low floor. Reception quickly put things right, though refused to accept that it was a smoking room. The second room was just fine - very good, in fact. Strangely absent in the room were any instructions or guides about the hotel such as meal times, facilities or checking out times. There was a load of guff, if you could find it, on the TV in teletext format. I was surprised to discover from reviews on our return that the min-bar was complimentary - drat, I missed that. Otherwise, the hotel was excellent - shiny, modern, nice staff. Continental breakfast was very good - though once again not sure if you could request a cooked breakfast. Relatively quiet location with excellent bus (10yds) or metro (1/2mile) links to centre. Madrid was great.
