I would reccommend this hotel to others. The staff was very accomadating and social. As well as professional and met all of our needs. I was quite impressed that the Essex House and Clevelander hotels are affiliated, which makes it an even better bargain. Great value for your money. All of my expectations were met and exceeded. The essex house was in no way the what people said it was. The hotel was horrible. How could this hotel be 3 stars, I don't know. The hallway was very narrow and horrible. The room had no dresser, they had a cloth blind which I manually had to tie into a hook so that it'd stay up...My friends were ripping all weekend for choosing such a crappy hotel..I don't recommend it at all. I can't imagine going back there.

I would recommend the Essex. It had spacious double rooms with very comfortable queen beds and a flawless air conditioning unit manufactured in this decade (key for summers in miami). The only thing i found lacking was a mini fridge in the rooms, which would've made our stay excellent.

I definetely would recommend to others. The staff was very friendly and professional. They had unbrellas to use which was good since we had a mini hurricane when we stayed. Great location, suprisingly quiet for the area. Room was basic but comfortable. good value

The hotel staff was superb. Location was close to the beach and the bathroom was very nice and the room was clean. We enjoyed it greatly!

the Essex was great regarding location. The room was ok, though it smelled kinda funky. Valet parking is $29 a day, but we had no problem finding parking on the street. The staff was really friendly.

We loved the staff. They were very helpful and made great recommendations for places to eat and shop. Also, we enjoyed sitting out on the porch and relaxing in the nice breeze. I booked this hotel because of the reviews and was pleased. It's not fancey but very nice and service goes along way.

While the lobby and bar areas are spotless, the room I stayed in had mold in the carpets. The smell of mold was overpowering.
While the furniture is modern, the rooms are old and and the bathroom is tiny.
In addition, all the buildings surrounding the hotel are currently under construction. It can get noisy during the daytime if you leave the windows open or sit by the pool & bar.
I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone due to the poor sanitary conditions.
