Ocean Five Hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Ocean Five hotel for our honeymoon in South Beach
The good:
* the front desk and cleaning personnel are very friendly and accommodative, they were great
* free continental breakfast at a nice restaurant
* kudos for taking care of small details such as good quality shampoo and shower gel, nice and big TV
* awesome location, in the middle of the best restaurants and beaches

The bad:
* the walls are way too thin, so you can hear EVERYTHING: the conversations of the cleaning ladies during the mornings and your neighbors during the nights
* the rooms are smaller than the average hotel rooms
* the bed in our voucher was queen size but the bed in the room was full size.

Overall we had a good experience and we would recommend it.

We loved the location of the hotel. Its just on the edge where all the tourist things happen. So you don't get loud people and cars in front. But it's all just about a block away. Our room overlooked the dumpster and back alley but it didn't matter because it had beautiful wood shutters to block it out. Room was cozy and had a nice touch of having an ipod player. It was a good value for the money.

Booked 2 nights early June. Got there late (around midnight) and the guy on the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the ground floor and it was quite small but furnished ok and was clean. However, the problems started at 8am the following day. We were awoken to a buiding site at the restaurant next door a few feet away from the room. 2 builders were busy hammering bricks making it impossible to get back to sleep. Then to add to that, it was constant door banging from rooms around us and noisy guests. You could even hear the conversations with them at the front desk down the hall! All in all not a bad hotel in a good location apart from the noise. Checked out early in the end and went to Key West - much better!

Good value and very nice staff. Accomidations may be a bit simple, but were clean and acceptable for a few night's stay: an efficent operation in all. Location is A+. Otherwise, I would recoment taking the on-site parking option at $25 and noted that the breakfast is too simple; just OJ, Coffee & simple pastry.

Your hotel was very nice service was very good and the location was great we were right on the strip and right across from beach the price was excellent for such a good location. We want to thank you for everything and will use your hotel again next time we are in Flordia. Skooch did a very good job on location and price the service was very good. Once again thank you for making our vacation very rememberable.
