I recommend it. We had asked for a renovated room since that's what previous reviews had recommended. To our surprise, we were informed that all the rooms were recently renovated. Rooms were clean and neat, although smaller in size compared to other Hyatts we have stayed at. Service at the front desk was very good. The negatives were: very tiny washroom. No minibar, and no coffe maker. Although we were on the 21st floor, the noise on the streets was quite loud, but I assume this was not unique to the Hyatt alone. It was good value for money, with a great location and close to everything and every where I needed to be! It met my expectations and will likely be my first choice next time I visit New York.

Grand Hyatt New York, perfect location!

I would recommend this hotel to a New York visitor, either first time or verteran traveler. The location was just perfect: right next to Grand Central Station (trains and subways within minutes) and only three to four blocks from Madison Ave and 5th Ave., respectfully. Beautiful lobby! I was not impressed with our room, compared to other Hyatts I have patronized. What I did not like was our particular layout...the back of our television was visible as soon as you walk in the main room! Bad layout--must be changed. Otherwise, the room was great, typical hyatt touches--nice warm woods, bed, linens, etc. The room was priced higher than usual becasue it was Spring Break for thousands of school kids and parents; however, I did get a susbstantial price break by booking through Skoosh (low $300s vs. $479 on Hyatt.com!). Great breakfast across the street (PERSHING SWUARE)!

I would definately recommend this hotel to others. The location could not be better. You can walk very easily from this location to many great NYC highlights. including, Central Park, MoMa, Macy's, Diamond District, Garment District, Theater district, Time Square, and many more places too. The hotel is very accomodating in that when you check in or check out they will allow you to check your luggage at the bell hop desk for 2 dollars a bag. This means you can walk around the city bag free before or after you've been able to check into your room. They will also help you to book tickets for a show etc. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff very helpful. The hotel was clean. The rooms were small, but that is to be expected in NYC. There was nothing that disappointed us at the Grand Hyatt
