This recently refurbished boutique hotel has 250 rooms spread over 16 floors. On its 16th floor patio garden retreat, guests can relax while enjoying stunning views of the city. The sophisticated interior of the hotel features dark wood furnishings, sumptuous textiles and brushed steel accents. The friendly staff are ready to help guests with anything they might need to ensure a great stay. Also on offer at this air-conditioned hotel are a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services hotel safe, currency exchange facility, cloakroom, lift access and a newspaper stand. For an additional fee guests can make use of the Internet access and laundry service. There is an area for bicycle storage.
The property is located on the Upper West Side, just 3 blocks from Central Park and away from the turbulence of Mid-town, yet still an easy commute away. The American Museum of Natural History and the Lincoln Center are in the area and there are fantastic shopping facilities and a myriad of dining choices in the vicinity. Times Square is a 20-minute walk from the hotel.

Would recommend - great location for sightseeing on upper west side, very close to central park, natural history museum, and 2 blocks from subway for all other attractions.
Hotel, very clean, safe and quiet. Staff freindly and willing and able to assist when needed.

I have stayed at On The Ave on 7-8 occasions and would recommend it to travelers who want a balance of location, style and comfort at a moderate price point.
The location is perfect; the lobby and front desk staff are helpful and smart.
Improvements can be made in the following areas:
Toilet seat was scratched and flimsy.
Elevators are slow and hot... Often used by housekeeping and crowded.
Too much housekeeping debris in hallways in late morning and afternoon..... Needs to be cleared regularly.
Rooms should have a safe.
Furniture is scratched and door locks should be upgraded.

hotel is close to great local eateries and shops; able to walk throughout the upper west side neighborhoods, and easy access to the subway station.
hotel room was a pleasant surprise - more room, clean and the hotel staff are efficient and friendly. - will be our place to stay when we visit the city.
