I knew it was going to be a small room but it was smaller than I imagined. The bed was too firm and the pillows too flat but we were so tired it didn't matter that much. The air conditioner was also a little loud which made falling asleep somewhat challenging. Bathroom was clean but once again very tight. Shared bathrooms were great, clean, but would recommend bringing shower shoes. Save yourself some money and get a room with shared bathrooms, wish we had. The room and hotel common ares were clean and modern. Excellent location, 20 min walk to Times Square and close to subway. Don't be intimidated by subway, very easy to navigate with a map and the locals are very helpful. The overall experience was positive. We parked in a lot just up the block which cost an additional $30/day with hotel validation. Good value for money!

22.07.11 - Definitely recommend this hotel - its location was great and gave us easy access to the subway to get around the city. Stayed here for one night as we were going to the Yankee Stadium, which was on the same subway line so that worked really well. Loved the funky design, staff were really good and the room was clean and extremely functional. We had shared showers/toilets on the same corridor, which were spotlessly clean and always free/available. Excellent value for money and I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is definitively worth the money! Excellent location, very good service, modern rooms, excellent service. We discovered the roof terrace a little bit to late, so do not forget to take a view from this the first day! Another good tip is the bagel shop, ess a bagel just around the corner and not to forget the thai restaurant, Thai 51, just besides the hotel. Our expectations were really met, and we can recommend the hotel

Best Value in NYC

The Pod Hotel is the best overall value in Manhattan. Each room is clean, free of bedbugs (of course we checked the mattress and surrounding areas), and has a private bathroom (not always the case with budget accommodation in NYC). I've stayed there a couple of times, and would recommend it to anyone traveling alone or with a partner. The hotel isn't really family-friendly, but that suits me just fine.

I would definitely recommend the Pod. We were expecting it to be rather compact, which it was, but other wise everything was fab. We stayed in a double room. The bed could have been more spacious, but the room is well laid out with storage under the bed, although the sink was a bit shallow - water everywhere. If you're at all shy it's tricky to have a shower without the other person seeing, but the shower is great and everything is clean and modern. The people there were very friendly and helpful and it has a lovely roof terrace and downstairs cafe area. It is also in a great area with easy access to many sights and plenty of great restaurants and bars on your doorstep. It seemed pretty pricey to me, but then so was everywhere, so I guess that's just New York.
