The hotel hosts guests from the art world, international travelers and celebrities seeking a tranquil, yet fashionable retreat. It is highly recommended for all travelers looking for something more than just a hotel. Ideally located in Manhattan's Upper East Side, the hotel is just steps from Central Park, Metropolitan and Guggenheim Museums, art galleries and Madison Avenue boutiques. A high rise, attractive, traditional building. The medium-size lobby greets guests the moment they enter with its traditional 18th-century English decor featuring two large floral arrangements, beveled mirrors, oriental rugs, crystal chandeliers, marbled flooring and wood-paneled elevators. There is also a grandfather clock and two oriental lions on grey marbled pedestals. Studio suite is oversized sleeping room, around 400-600 sq ft. All the rooms consist of fully equipped kitchenettes and refrigerator. Rooms are decorated with green carpets, peach flowered bedspreads and draperies. Brass fixtures and botanical prints grace each suite. Modern white tiled bathrooms are very clean and medium size.

Very expensive - light breakfast in hotel restaurant was $100+. No access to ice by hotel guests - you have to order the ice and have it delivered to your room. The rooms facing the street are loud with excessive street noises all night long - our sleep was disrupted every night. If you book insist on an interior room it will be more peaceful. The rooms are amazing and extremely comfortable. The bed was excellent, and the shower was awesome. It is a lot of money per night but considering that it is UES NYC the price wa sreasonable compared to other top end locations. I would book again but only an interior room.

We Really Enjoy The Surrey Hotel

We always try to stay in the Surrey for the following reasons: 1. Location - close to Central Park and the East Side Historic District where we have family friends. 2. Staff - about the most positive, helpful, friendly staff around ... and this is anywhere, not just New York City. 3. Price ... Rates are high for anywhere else, but very good value in New York. Room furnishings are a bit run down but no more so than you would find at home. And the rooms are huge, with kitchenettes that can really help cut the food bill of a visitor.

Surrey Hotel

Expensive, but worth it because of the location. Staff was extremely courteous and knowledgable. Saved me money on parking and they had no problem hailing a cab for us.

Surrey Hotel

The Surrey Hotel is more of a residential hotel for elderly New Yorkers. The rooms are big but tired. There is no bar, breakfast facility or a "working" lobby.

Super Surrey Hotel

Wonderful location very close to Central Park, our room was great, the staff were top class, I would book here again, a real find.
