New York Hotel with European Feel

We had a tiny room at the Wales (twin beds) facing an airshaft. While the view was non-existent, we were very happy there. The location is lovely, the people are nice, the room was quiet (the positive side of an airshaft) and the beds were comfortable. I would happily stay there again, tho I might ask for a room with more of a view. It's worth noting that the hotel has a roof deck that is really a lovely spot to read, have a drink, etc. Lovely views to be had there.

Rooms were clean, service was poor.

The Hotel service was not very sharp. During check in we were told there are no rooms with 2 double beds (in the entire hotel) and had to upgrade to a suite and pay the extra fee. Another party checking in experienced the same situation. The fact that this hotel has only rooms with one queen or a single double bed or the full suite needs to be clarified. The rooms however were very clean and the suite very nice there was only one king bed in the suite but it did have a pull out sofa. The Hotel Wales is a good place to stay if you are not concerned with service and are looking for a comfortable and clean place to sleep. The continental breakfast was a nice feature.

I loved Hotel Wales

Absolutely. The staff is great and accomodating; the rooms are fresh and clean and the breakfast room is homey. The Carnegie Hioll neighborhood is a wonderful place to wander around, removed from the cacaphonny of the midtown areas, which are not hard to get to.

Yes, very good location, nice breakfast included, rooms in very good, if not excellent condition, helpful staff. Because of Skoosh, good value for money. I would absolutely stay there again.
