Kolbe Hotel Rome is a 4 star hotel in Rome.
The 72-room hotel is a magnificent historical building that was renovated in 2007, reflecting and restoring the original décor, which offers its guests a touch of the past alongside modern comforts. Guests are welcomed into the foyer by a 24-hour reception and check-out service, and may make use of the currency exchange facility or hotel safe. Lift access is also available, and the building is fully air-conditioned. Other features include an in-house bar and restaurant, and laundry and room services are available for a fee.
We really want to recommend the Kolbe hotel! Rooms look very good and clean. Breakfast is excellent. Our room overlooked the garden and besides a nice view this side is also very quiet. The staff is very helpful and friendly! City maps are available at reception (for free) and they are very useful to help you find your way in the city center. Location is fine (we did everything on foot). Close to Trastevere were you'll find lots of nice restaurants. Go up to the top floor for a better view of the Forum Romanum, which is actually in front of the hotel! We had a great and relaxing stay and we will definitely come back here for our next visit!

The Kolbe Rome used to be a convent. It has a very nice, modern interior design. Breakfast service is excellent. Located on Via di San Teodoro, which is next to the Roman Forum, but not near its main entrance. Walking distance to the closest bus stop could be a problem for some. The nearest tourist attraction is Campidoglio Square (Capitoline Museums) aprox 15 min walk. The nearest bus stops are Boca de la Veritta and Petroselli. From there, you can catch a bus to almost anywhere around Rome if you learn to use them. No shops or restaurants on San Tedoro Street. To get there from Fiumicino we took the regular train, in the direction of Fara Sabina, and stop at Stazione Ostiense. 5.5 euros per passenger. From there take a taxi (7-8 euros) or Bus 95 to Boca de la Veritta (if you don't have much luggage, 1 euro).
