Yes, I would recommend it with the following information.
The room offered at the rate quoted was just a little bigger than a large walk in closet. The bed could not have been a queen-it was offered as a "mini-queen". I asked for an u7pgrade and for $10 more plus tax (25% in SF.) we got a great room with a King bed. This was definitely a good value for the money.
My original expectations were not met. My final ones with the upgrade were.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Good location, tastefully decorated and very clean. The bar was cozy and casual. Beds, comfortable and quiet, almost no street noise, which I have always found at other hotels in the same area. Very good choice for the money.

Good location, right at union Square. Clean with decent bed. Fast elevators. Very quiet on the 15th floor. Quiet A/C. In-room safe is convenient. Comfortable robes.

Not much personality. Somwehat shabby rooms. Our closet doors kept coming off the track. Limited storage space (2 drawers beneath TV; no bedside drawers. ) No lightswitch at bedside or further in room (for the lights turned on only at door switchplate) No bedside lighting. No replacement of soap or provision of clean glasses during our 4 nights.

I would stay again, but not with enthusiasm.

Nice Hotel, good mattresses. However, the room sizes are small and could use updating.
