I've stayed in this hotel twice. It's very simple, clean and centrally located. The staff at very helpful and courteous. It is a slightly long walk if you are attending a conference at Moscone, however it's great if you are interested in the union square area. As a plus, being so close to Market St. it is easily accessible by bart/muni/bus. Farmerbrown, the restaurant that shares the first floor with the hotel, is quite good and worth going to even if you weren't staying at the hotel. |

If you're spending most of your days at the Moscone Convention Center, this is a very good price choice. It's a refurbished older building, so it's missing modern details like a vent in the bathroom, or a public restroom in the lobby (it shares bathrooms with the Farmer Brown's restaurant adjacent). The staff was very nice and helpful throughout the whole week, and the furnishings were very comfortable. The coffee/tea in the mornings was nice, but the "wine tasting" options on the weekends left a lot to be desired. I have read others complain about the nearby homeless population, but that is true no matter where you stay in downtown San Francisco due to the methadone clinics, and proximity to the Tenderloin area. The trade-off is central access to the conventions, museums, cable cars, and all public transportation options. We thought the trade was worth it. |

This was a great choice for New Years Eve: excellent value, fine location (1 block from Nordstrom, 3 blocks from Union Sq), decent and comfortable rooms, helpful staff. I will certainly stay here again. |

We would surely recommend it to others. Great bargain hotel near downtown. It was clean, the room was a bit small (think european), but the bathroom had some poor detail work. For instance the build quality in the bathroom, tilework, didn't seem very professional. |

We arrived late and the only room left was on the second floor facing a dingy street with a wall of grafitti on the opposite building. Room nice though. |
