Built inside a former bank building, this 20-storey hotel comprises a total of 307 guest rooms and suites. The air-conditioned establishment welcomes its guests into a large lobby with living-room-style seating, a fireplace, and a photo gallery with two-dozen historical black-and-white images of downtown Seattle. The hotel is popular with both business and leisure travellers, and facilities include 24-hour reception and check-out services, a hotel safe, lift access, a café, a bar and a restaurant. Business guests are sure to appreciate the conference facilities and Internet access, and a laundry service is provided for a fee. Guests arriving by car can leave their vehicles in the nearby car park for a fee. This city and conference hotel is conveniently located in downtown Seattle, between Pike and Union streets in the heart of downtown Seattle. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, shops and entertainment venues, meanwhile, downtown's most popular attractions such as Pike Place Market, the Space Needle and Pioneer Square, to name but a few, are within easy reach of the hotel. The hotel is also centrally located within 4 blocks of downtown theatres, shopping and the convention centre. Vancouver can be reached in around 3 hours by car, whilst Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is approximately 20 km from the accommodation. The hotel offers all guests use of an on-site gym. Guests can also enjoy English-style fare in the street-level Elephant and Castle Pub. From the airport take I5 Northbound to Downtown Seattle. Great stay in Seattle Downtown

We had a great stay in the Red Lion Hotel in Seattle!! The hotel is located on a great location and you are near all the places to see. The staff in the hotel is nice and very helpfull. The parking place is very convenient if you are travelling by car. We will certainly would love to go back!! The only disapointment was that the coffeemaker in the room didn't work, but hey we can live with that -)

Pleasant, but lacking employee support

Yes I would recommend, if someone didn't have any lofty expectations. The rooms were decent, clean and nicely furnished. Unfortunately, there must have been some miss communication, and Housekeeping never came to make up the room on the first day. I called to report the request, but no one ever arrived. Staff was Ok at the Front desk, but the Concierge was seldom around. The parking was expensive, even though we were told that it was the average price downtown, however, I did see cheaper lots close to the hotel. The Business Center was located in a dark downstairs area in the conference building..not convenient for Hotel guests. Very convenient to Pike's Market and other attractions. I think if the staff was a bit more perky, it would makeup for any other inconsistencies.

Nice hotel, great views but bored concierge

We upgraded to get a water view and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was. The room was nicely furnished with a modern touch, a 37 inch flat screen, large windows, comfy bed and reading chair. On the downside, the light was too dim for proper reading and the bathroom door is frosted glass so the person inside can be seen! The front desk staff were pleasant enough but the filipino concierge was not very helpful and looked like he was falling asleep at the desk. He was just sitting there staring out the front door. The computer is located across the breezeway and downstairs. Lonely and quite for a woman alone. Computer is only free for airlines and first 15 minutes for internet, then you pay.

It's within walking distance of most of the things we wanted to see or close to public transportation. The cost was decent for downtown Seattle. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again on a return trip. The room was large and clean. The food at the restaurant was tasty and especially the breakfast buffet was very reasonable.
