Great property in ideal position with some original fresco still visible in the Royal Suite. The style of this hotel is just unique. The restoration works took a long time due to the fact that this is a registered property and the aim was to bring back one of the most beautiful and interested palaces in Europe in 1600. This beautiful hotel dominates the charming campo Santa Maria Formosa, one of the biggest Campi (squares) of Venice, equally distant both from San Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge, the biggest tourist sites of the city. The closest boat stops are San Zaccaria or Rialto. There is also a private pier at the hotel for access by water taxi. The area is full of life with its small local fresh food market and with its cafe bars and restaurants. Some of the best restaurants are actually just nearby. The hotel overlooks also the famous Santa Maria Formosa Church. This is a gorgeous palace going back to the splendours of the 17th century, when Venice was at the peak of its wealth and power. The palace was actually the residence of one of the Dogi that ruled the city. It is a stunning palace made of white carved marble that goes up to 4 floors of Baroque style. The lobby is modern with stunning Venetian chandeliers that make the environment quite elegant. There are beautiful Venetian floors that have been brought back to its original appearance. The standard rooms are the smallest in size, as there are very spacious rooms at this hotel, but they are very cosy and well appointed. They are furnished in an elegant style that is the product of a fusion of traditional Venetian and modern style, which is the recurrent theme all around the hotel. Some of the rooms have got a very unique design, with the bathroom, like a cocoon in the middle of the room, and the furnishings arranged all around it. The bed is always positioned facing the windows and in the majority of the rooms there is a service corner with table and chairs. There are also deluxe rooms and junior suites offering wider spaces.

As of August 24th Venice will implement a new accommodation tax that must be paid by the guest at check out. The fee is from € 1.00 to max € 5.00 per person per night depending on hotel location, hotel category, and seasonality. This apply to a maximum of 5 consecutive nights and children under 10 will be exempt from the tax.

Ruzzini Palace is an excellent hotel

Happy to recommend this hotel.Booking made through Skoosh.com was really good value. Location excellent, near Realto bridge.Staff was very attentive and professional. Definitely will stay at the Ruzzini Palace again.

Modern, well appointed

This is a great place and the front desk staff are very professional. We had booked 2 economy rooms which turned out to be on the ground floor and one had a very strange shower (under the steps to the 2nd level. We would probably book a higher category room next time. The other economy room had an air conditioning problem (very hot!) and although they came through in the end, it took a while to arrange for an acceptable room without paying an upgrade fee. The included breakfast was fabulous. The upstairs sitting room is like you would expect in a palace.

Ruzzini Palace is Heaven on Earth the BEST

There is nothing in this hotel that anyone will ever find fault with. The location location location is perfect, in the middle of everything. The rooms are fabulous, and we were in the "basic" standard room. The staff are very very helpfull and can arrange anything! Breakfast, self service, will keep you going till your evening meal. My advice is to take the offer of the hotel to collect you from the airport, it may appear expensive but it is the only way to arrive in style. Best of all was the deal through Skoosh for such a fanfastic week.

magnificent days at ruzzini palace

very nice hotel in the heart of venice, really close to saint mark square and nicely located in campo santa maria formosa an ancient palace turned into a modern hotel without losing the venetian essence, really clean, really friendly staff which spoke perfect spanish and as i could hear english too, all for a more than reasonable price we hope to get back soon

Fantastic Ruzzini Palace

The hotel were exceptional with me and my wife from the moment we walked through the door. As it was my wife's 30th birthday we received a free upgrade to one of the junior suites which was huge along with a free bottle of Proseco which was brought up to the room. The hotel is in a fantastic location with several good restaurants close by. I would personally recommend one called Marco Polo where we had one of the set menu meals on the first night which was excellent.
